May 2021 Newsletter

Welcome to my May 2021 Newsletter!

With 2020 behind us and it’s lingering challenges fading, this Spring was certainly filled with hope. With my entire calendar of in-person events canceled last year, I depended entirely on social media and online events to showcase my artwork and share my story. This year has shaped up to be more of a blend of virtual and (slowly but surely) in-person events, and I can’t thank you all enough for supporting me by continuing to follow  me on Facebook and Instagram and for sharing my posts!

I have been blessed and fortunate enough to continue to paint many commissions for clients, and had my artwork grace the covers of Beckett magazine this Spring and SMR Magazine (PSA grading). I’m proud to share an amazing project for Topps baseball cards which was recently released, and can’t wait to share some new projects later this year!

As always, I have giclees available and  some unique signed pieces as well. In fact, there are some original paintings you’ll see featured in this newsletter.  I’m looking forward to amazing events that are happening later this year – I look forward to seeing all of you at them!

Springing into summer with this share – it’s the original artwork that’s featured on the cover of SMR Magazine’s June “Like Father, Like Son” issue

Enjoyed being Interviewed on The Art Shamsky Podcast

“[James Fiorentino] was recognized as a prodigy at six. At fifteen, he became the youngest artist ever to show in Cooperstown and it’s been upward from there as he’s become the foremost sports artist of our generation. James Fiorentino has painted presidents, royalty, and sports legends and joins The Art Shamsky Podcast to talk about his artistry and the masterpieces yet to come. Art talks art with the gifted James Fiorentino on this edition of The Art Shamsky Podcast.

EXCITED TO HAVE MY ART OF UGGLA, A GREAT HORNED OWL, ON THE COVER OF THE RAPTOR TRUST ANNUAL REPORT.

I’m honored to be a trustee at the The Raptor Trust, one of the premier wild bird rehabilitation centers in the United States, and excited to have my art of Uggla, a great horned owl, on the cover of the Annual Report.

Uggla came in as a human imprint at only 5 weeks old, during the summer of 1980. He was the Raptor Trust’s oldest permanent resident until he died last year at the age of 40. Since Uggla was so conditioned to people, he was deemed non-releasable.

Painting of my friend, actor Dominic Pace, who played Gekko in the Mandalorian (Season 1 :Episode 1 and 3)

As one of the Guilds Bounty Hunters, Dominic will be making an appearance at RC Collectibles in Lebanon NJ on July 22 to meet fans and sign autographs.
This original 14 x 14 watercolor I painted will be presented to Dominic at the event.

Honored to be part the 2021 Topps Transcendent Collection Hall of Fame Edition Baseball.

Beckett Media Article: 2021 Topps Transcendent Hall of Fame Baseball is as close as you’re going to get to a ‘sure thing’ in the hobby…inside each is more than 40 autographs, all from Cooperstown inductees…The final autograph in each box is an Oversized Framed Cut Signature…some of these are combo cards with as many as four different autographs…The final card in each box is the only one to not have a Hall of Fame signature. Rather, it’s original art from James Fiorentino…[who] has created art for sports cards in the past, but it’s typically for sets and not one-offs like these art cards.”
